Brit Awards 2008 : : Winners
Sir Paul McCartney was presented with the "Outstanding Contribution to Music Award" before he performed a medley of his hits. Kylie Minogue won for "Best International Solo Act." Mika won for "Best British Breakthrough Artist." He also performed with singer Beth Ditto. Take That won "Best Single" for their song "Shine." The Arctic Monkeys won two awards for "British Group of the Year" and "Best British Album." Mark Ronson won for "Best Male Solo," making it a first in Brit Awards history to award a non-singing performer this trophy. Ronson also made a duet performance with Amy Winehouse. Rihanna brought down the house with her performance. Leona Lewis was the biggest upset of the night. Lewis had the biggest-selling UK single of 2007 and went home empty handed despite having four nominations.AND Kanye West didn't show at the awards ceremony to pick up his trophy for "International Male Artist."
